Melbourne Advanced Education Group Pty Ltd (MAEG) Trading as Melbourne Advanced College(MAC)respects the privacy and personal information provided by you to us by adhering to Information Privacy Act 2000. The Policy applies to all personal information provided to us. We abide by the following principles in our privacy policy:
We will only collect what information is necessary for us to provide an efficient and satisfactory MAC service by lawful and fair means. MAC monitors and records details of all incoming electronic traffic to ensure the integrity of the College's networks. This information will be used for statistical analysis to help improve the services delivered by the College. MAC reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time.
On occasions, MAC may collect personal information about you from another individual and/or organisation. For example, MAC may collect personal information from:
- Commonwealth and State agencies;
- a company for whom you work;
- other individuals and/or organizations with whom you have any dealings;
- an employment recruitment agent or agency;
- a student related recruitment agent or agency
We are obliged to pass your information to Government agencies when legally requested. We may also use the information we collect to keep you abreast of changes in our website, to inform you about new products and services, or to let you know about special offers you might find worthwhile. MAC will not collect any sensitive information relating to:

- membership of a professional or trade association or membership of a trade union;
- political opinions;
- religious beliefs, affiliations or philosophical beliefs;
- criminal record;
- sexual preferences or practices.
MAC may provide access to personal information without your consent only in certain prescribed circumstances, including but not limited to:
- emergency situations;
- specified Commonwealth and State agencies and to comply with legislative requirements.

- lessening or preventing a serious and imminent threat to an individual's life, health or safety or a serious threat to public health or public safety.
MAC endeavour at all times to ensure information held by the College about you is accurate and up to date. Thus we encourage you to notify us of any inaccurate information so that it can be corrected.
MAC can not guarantee the secure transmission of information over the internet. Visitors should be aware that there are risks in transmitting information over the internet. If you are concerned about conveying your personal information over the internet, please feel free to contact the College by other means. MAC will respond to your query or complaint as soon as possible.
MAC will take reasonable steps to ensure your personal information is stored in a secure environment protected from unauthorised access, modification and disclosure. MAC uses industry standard safeguards to ensure the security of personal information through physical, electronic and managerial procedures. When MAC no longer requires personal information, it will safely destroy the information and delete it from its systems.
